Enjoy the journey

Heart to Heart

If we were all standing in a room together and I asked you to raise your hand if you ever wanted to stop or quit in your journey, I would undoubtedly say every single person would raise their hand. Why do I know this?! Because somewhere along the way you have struggled to enjoy the journey just like I have.

Social media will have us all believing otherwise but the truth is that life is a journey and no one is exempt from the valleys or mountaintops. We all have those “high” moments to remember where we easily want to relive and celebrate. And yes, we also have those “low” points in our lives that we painfully remember and hope to never go back to.

But guess what?! Through it all, you are still here and reading this and that means you survived! And more than that, God isn’t finished with you yet!! These three words, “enjoy the journey” came into my heart a couple of years ago. I was going through a really rough season and God spoke them to me like a breath of fresh air. Instead of wishing away my valley’s, I learned to lean on Him. He’s teaching me that just as glorious as those mountaintops can be so can the valleys. Why? Simple. Because God is with us through it all and no matter how glorious or life-sucking any experience feels, He’s on your side and leading you.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Psalm 23:6

Surely, undoubtedly, with full assurance, etc. No matter where you find yourself, His goodness and mercy is seeking you out! His love is chasing you! Not a day goes by that the Father isn’t after your heart!!

So next time you feel yourself trying to wish a season away or even hoping you never leave the place you are in, remember that God has a lesson He wants to teach you, words He wants to speak into you, and a place that He wants to grow you.

Enjoy your journey because surely He is with you through it all.
