Perfect Peace

Perfect Peace

Perfect Peace

There's just something about God's peace, real peace. I've been really pondering on it lately and how true peace only comes from declaring Jesus as the Savior of your life. My life surely hasn't been short of faults and trials. I've been through some tough times and I don't doubt that you have endured difficult times, and even far worse than I have. But it's knowing that God has my back that keeps me at ease. It's trusting His promises because I know that He is good and so are His plans for my life that allow me to not worry.

I was recently listening to a podcast from Bill Johnson, pastor from Bethel Church, and he spoke about how when we don't have total trust in God in an area of our life its because we don't really know Him in that area. And to know Him is to have an intimate relationship with Him, not just know about Him.  He also went on to say to while the trials of life may disappoint us they are never meant to devastate us.

I pondered on that and how I can remember so many times in my walk with Christ where things have happened, the enemy has came to destroy me, but God's perfect peace held me together. Have you ever felt that peace, a peace that doesn't even quite make sense at the moment, but it allows you to rest and to choose faith instead of fear?! Yes, that's God's peace, true peace.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

Nothing brings perfect peace to your life like Jesus. No matter how rough the waters get or how everything around you may seem, keep your eyes fixed on the One who can change it all with just one word. His perfect peace will allow you to rest right through your trials straight into victory!

I challenge you to take a look at your life. Are there areas that you seem to struggle in giving God your full faith? Are there places in your life that you don't have perfect peace about? If so, allow God to show you who He is to you in that situation. If it's finances, let Him show you that He is the God of abundance. If it's in a relationship, let Him show you that He is the God of restoration and makes all things new. If it's for healing, let Him show you that He is your Healer and created you to be well, normal and whole. Whatever it is, God desires for you to live a life filled with His perfect peace. We are His children and He wants us to experience all that He has for, including His perfect peace!

Here's a song about God's peace that has been wrecking me!
