Thoughts from my heart

Be Kind to Yourself

I take a selfie but I don’t like the way it looks. I end up taking 20 more before I pick a "good" one. My roots need to be touched up. My eyes have bags the size of Texas underneath and I still haven’t lost that weight I keep telling myself that I’m going to.

Why? Why are we so hard on ourselves? When did it become ok to beat ourselves up? There is so much talk about bullying and being kind to one another. But what about us?! How do we treat ourselves?

Love yourself. Love who you are. Love where you are. And if you don’t simply change it.

We all have things about ourselves that bother us but it is vital as sons and daughters of God that we have confidence in who He created us to be. Be confident in yourself.

Stop wasting your worries on unattainable goals and things you have no control over. Grab ahold of what’s important to you and work from there. Life is a process. Enjoy the journey. And love yourself.

I will offer You my grateful heart, for I am Your unique creation, filled with wonder and awe. You have approached even the smallest details with excellence; Your works are wonderful; I carry this knowledge deep within my soul.
Psalm 139:14

Blessings,
Joanna
