Thoughts from my heart

Thoughts from my heart

I most certainly believe God uses the small to talk to us in big ways and this morning was no different. As I went to my cabinets to find which Rae Dunn coffee mug to use, I decided to pick the one that says wisdom. I had no exact verse or passage that I wanted to read so I grabbed my Passion Translation 1 & 2 Corinthians and just flipped through and started somewhere. I read the last part of chapter 11 and then started on chapter 12, Spiritual Gifts.
If you don’t already know by now, I LOVE the Passion translation and quite often use them on my devotionals and bible translations on Instagram.

Vs 6“The same God distributes different kinds of miracles that accomplish different results through each believer’s gift and ministry as he energizes and activates them.
Vs 7 “Each believer is given continuous revelation by the Holy Spirit to benefit not just himself but all.”

This speaks volumes! First, God has given us each something special that yields different results. That means it is imperative for you to seek out what God has placed inside of you and go after it with all your heart. Why?! Because what He has given you has an ability to reach certain people and places that no one else can.

Second, while God has given each of us a gift to use it’s not just for us to keep to ourselves. Why?! Because God’s kingdom is based on family and that means we are all in this together. Together we learn, uplift, encourage and edify one another. So, what we do matters! It matters to God, it matters in our lives, and to the people around us.
And if we truly believe that God is giving us continual revelation, that means we shouldn’t feel stuck or lost because there’s always something new He wants to do!

After reading those two verses, which had already blown my mind, it started breaking down the spiritual gifts and don’t you know the first was wisdom! I knew that Holy Spirit had me pick that mug out for a reason. Now, one of the many reasons I love the Passion translation is the way it just has a breath of fresh air breathed on the words and also because the sub passages that explain verses into detail. So, here is what is says about “the gift of the word of wisdom.”

“This is a revelation gift of the Holy Spirit to impart understanding of strategy and insight that only God can give. This is more than simply wisdom, but the clearly crafted word of wisdom to unlock the hearts of people and free the corporate body to move forward under God’s direction. This gift will express the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, not of man. The best examples of this gift were 1) when Jesus saw Nathanial under the fig tree and knew his true character as a man without guile and 2) when Jesus spoke to the woman at the well and unlocked her heart without the words “Go bring your husband.”

I know you’ve been in those situations before where nothing logical seems right or the answer. But divine strategy and insight (God’s wisdom) is where the solution comes in.

My prayer today is for God to give us divine strategy and insight! I know that God wants to use everyone! Ask Him today to reveal to you what it is He placed inside of you and begin to let Him unfold it. His desire is to see His Kingdom magnified through you.
