You > Insecurities

You > Insecurities

This past week we had several inches of snow in my small southern hometown. With one of my besties being a bomb photographer, we both immediately knew it would be amazing to do a winter photo shoot. I borrowed a fur coat from my mom and ransacked my closet for something that would be perfect for pictures in the snow! I sprayed some dry shampoo in my hair (lifesaver) and put on a fresh face of makeup. I was so eager to have a little girl time and do something creative.

As soon as we finished the shoot, I immediately came home and started editing the pictures. And then it hit me. All the thoughts from the enemy began to fill my mind. All the insecurities that I had thrown to the side suddenly made their way to the surface. "I'm not pretty enough. I have a double chin. Look at that wrinkle in my forehead. My teeth need to be whitened...", etc.

I want to be real with you. Why?! Because that's what you really want, isn't it? I'm not here to tell you I have the most perfect life or that I never struggle because that would be farthest from the truth. I'm writing this to tell you that you are greater than your insecurities. I know this because I am too!

As those lies from the enemy flooded my mind, Holy Spirit spoke to me right then and there. "Insecurities are opposites from the truth. Jesus isn't insecure. He is the exact opposite. He knows exactly who He is. He was created in the Father's perfect image and so are you!"

God calls us spotless and blameless in His eyes. You need to see yourself through Father God's eyes because He sees you as His perfect son or daughter. What in your life is causing your vision to be altered?  Ask Him, "Jesus give me eyes to see myself like you see me."

And now there is nothing between you and Father God, for He sees you as holy, flawless, and restored.
