Thoughts from My Heart

DREAM

Dreams. We all have them. Some from too much pizza. But others, straight from heaven. A lot of times we can be so quick to throw a dream out the window because, lets be real, we ain't got time for that! But do we?!

God created dreams as another way to speak to us. He uses dreams to awaken our creative side and reveal things to us in ways that we wouldn't usually listen. Multiple times throughout the Bible it states that people had dreams and used them as means to prepare for what was to come, reveal things that we unknown, and bring revelation of what God was doing.

May He grant the dreams of your heart and see your plans through to the end. Psalm 20:4

And it shall come to pass afterward,
    that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;
your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Joel 2:28

Over a year ago, while we were in the process of building our new home, God gave me a dream so clearly. I was sitting in the sun room of my new home at a baby grand piano, singing and worshipping, and as I looked out there were women all around my house worshipping with me! It was so raw and real, even though I wasn't in the house and I had no piano.

Not long after, we moved into our new home and God provided the means to purchase a baby grand piano that was in my dream. And while I knew the rest of the dream was to come to pass, I just didn't know when that would be. Mostly, it was because I had fear of fulfilling that dream.

Overtime, I felt like I was ready to step out and step into what the dream God gave me entailed, but I could hear the enemy whisper all the reasons not to. "No one will come", "Everyone hates the way you sing", "No one cares about you", etc. The list goes on and I would give in to the lies.

The last couple of weeks it has really been heavy on my heart about doing this worship night at my home and this Sunday was such a wake up call for me. We had a special evangelist come to our church and God used her to give me a "love tap" of correction. You gotta love the way God so lovingly corrects us. She talked about how we can get so distracted and lose sight of the vision God has given us. You are either to be hot or cold, not lukewarm. And then she said this:

It's time to stop shacking up with Jesus, and it’s time to be the bride of Christ.
Jan Aldridge

Can we say WOAH?! My mouth dropped. It's time to surrender it all to Him. We shouldn't use God just for His benefits but back off when He calls us to do something. We are in this together, aren't we?!

Whatever is distracting you from the dreams and visions God has given you, it's time to kick them to the curb! We have got to be ALL IN! It's not about one of us but all of us working together as a community to do this thing! We are the vision! We are the dream!

Back to the dream thing. I dare you to write down in the next week some dreams that you have had and see what you can do to go ALL IN in seeing them fulfilled.

P.S. I use a christian dream interpretation book called The Divinity Code that is ah-mazing and so spot on. It can be purchased on iBooks but I am adding the link HERE to purchase on paper on Amazon.

Blessings,
Joanna
